What is Ombuds?
The term “Ombuds” is a Swedish word which refers to the people’s representative—we are here for you—students, faculty and staff—anyone who has a university-related concern. The Office of Ombuds Services provides a full-range of conflict resolution services with the goal of seeking constructive and equitable outcomes. We assist you with exploring your options, facilitating communication between parties in various ways, providing information on policies or procedures and referring you to other helpful resources. All of this is done in an informal, confidential, neutral and independent manner.
The University Ombuds Office creates a welcoming and professional environment in which your concerns, confusions or conflicts can be addressed. Stop by or contact us to make an appointment. Tell your friends and co-workers that we are here to help! We are located on the second floor of the Santos Manuel Student Union, Room 202.
